Brian Stevens

Brian Stevens, a renowned choreographer and teacher based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, has gained international recognition for his teaching and choreography. He founded Artistic Dance Designs in 2013 and has held key roles such as Contemporary Director for Elite Classical Coaching and Artistic Director for KJ Dance and Lifesong Studio's competitive companies. Brian's choreography has consistently achieved top rankings at prestigious competitions, including winning the Gold medal at The American Dance Competition Youth International Ballet Competition Finals. Previously under his direction, KJ Dance’s pre-professional company has been nationally recognized as New York City Dance Alliance’s First National Outstanding Studio in 2017. His choreography won the 2019 NYCDA National Teen Critic's Choice Award. He has received the prestigious Outstanding Choreographer award at YAGP in 2022, 2023 and 2024. Under his mentorship, numerous dancers have earned coveted spots at renowned institutions such as The Juilliard School, The University of Southern California Glorya Kaufman School of Dance, The European School of Ballet, The American Ballet Theatre School, The John Cranko Schule, New York University, SUNY Purchase Conservatory, Boston Conservatory, PACE Commercial Dance, and various other esteemed institutions around the world.  As the Artistic Director of Wanderlust Dance Project Dallas, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Brian helped provide pre-professionals with opportunities to train alongside industry professionals. He also teaches at various dance intensives, conventions and workshops internationally including Complexions Contemporary Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet School and Dupree Dance Convention.  Brian's recent work has been performed in Stuttgart, Germany; Genova, Italy; Helsinki, Finland; and Cancun, Mexico. In 2022, he launched Regeneration, a pre-professional contemporary dance company dedicated to nurturing the talents of high school dancers who aspire to pursue a professional career in concert dance.
